Do You Seek Continuous
Improvement In Your Job or Business?
Intelligent people are always open to new ideas. In
fact, they look for them (Proverbs 18:15
NLT).
You’ve heard the old adage,
“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” This is still wise advice in many
situations, but some would say, “If it ain’t broke, break it, so we can make it
better.” At the very least, we need to be willing to “break” our habit of
staying in the same old rut at work and begin to look for new and better ways
to conduct business.
Start by examining your
attitude. Do you truly want to improve? If so, evaluate your processes, review
your procedures, and identify one or two ways to improve your work. Ask others
for suggestions, especially your coworkers and your boss. Be prepared to listen
and to implement what you hear.
Adopt a mind-set of
continuous improvement and soon you’ll be growing and improving your business
instead of just running it.
