Continually Sharpen the Edge of Your Sword

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed (2 Timothy 2:15).

Effective managers and executives accept no excuse for not continually improving their job performance. Managers who fail to learn and grow will eventually be passed by.

Commit yourself to reading a personal growth or business book every three months. Subscribe to and read at least one trade magazine and one general business magazine each month. Attend one or more seminars each year designed to update you in your business field. Expose yourself to new ideas and different viewpoints.

You may think you don’t have time, but you can’t afford not to make time for activities that will help you grow professionally. Failure to stay current will allow competitors to gain the upper hand and make inroads with your customers. It takes repeated sharpening to keep the edge of the sword ready for battle.

Is your sword sharpened?

For the kingdom,
