Do You Realize How Your Work Affects Others?
Whether a tree falls toward the south or toward the north, wherever the tree falls, there it lies (Ecclesiastes 11:3)
The phrase “It’s none of your business” rarely applies at work, because everything we do on the job affects the people around us. Because every business function is interconnected, the quality and integrity of your work makes all the difference.
Like a tree that falls in the wrong direction, if your work falls short of meeting customer expectations, the failure will be obvious to all. Redoing and fixing mistakes always costs more than taking the time to ensure that the work is done right in the first place.
Remember, most of the work you do will be passed along to a colleague ― or directly to a customer. Do your best work the first time around, and you’ll guarantee your long-term business success.
