Is Your Management Style more “do as I say and not as I do”?
You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly enough to take the speck out of your brother’s eye. (Matthew 7:5)
What kind of example are you setting for your staff? Are you showing up for work on time, honoring customer commitments, and keeping your promises to other members of your team? Or is your management style more “do as I say not as I do?”
As leaders, when we allow ourselves to be held accountable by others, we increase our authority to hold others accountable. But if we keep one standard for our subordinates and live by a different standard, we undermine our credibility and weaken team morale.
Like it or not, our actions speak louder to our staff than our commands. Effective managers build trust through integrity, consistency, and follow-through. Your leadership will be enhanced as you set a worthy example in your organization.
Are you leading by example?
