Avoid “Staff Infections”
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. (Romans 16:17)
There is a different kind of “infection” that affects many businesses, organizations and families, and may be fatal.
This kind of infection normally begins when someone within the organization, group, or relationship becomes upset by some other member, situation, or perceived injustice. Instead of giving the situation time to change or correct itself, the disgruntled individual begins to manifest his or her negative feelings, through criticism, disrespect, pouting, temper tantrums, or hostility.
If not handled quickly and properly by those in authority, this person’s negative attitude can spread to others in the family, group, or business. When this occurs it is no longer a personal problem, but rather it becomes a “staff infection.”
This “disease” soon spreads beyond one person and begins to affect others. As with physical infection, if left untreated it can be harmful to the harmony and unity of the business or family unit, and may prove fatal.
Throughout the Bible, prophets, and even Jesus Himself, had to remove negative people or remove themselves from negative situations before increase or miracles could be manifested.
Determine that you are not going to ignore personal negativism, but rather will deal with it in a firm but compassionate way before it infects others.
What negative attitudes or situations are you facing that are working against the achievement of your dreams? Have you allowed yourself to become personally negative about a situation or another person? What do you need to do to change or correct this situation or individual?
