Business in the Best of Times and the Worst of Times

Frank Damazio

These are great days of opportunity as well as challenges, but there has never been a better time in all our history for a person to be successful than in today's modern business world. We have better communications, better budgeting, better accounting systems, better marketing and better advertising ideas. Today's businessperson must lead in an atmosphere of constant change, chaos, and turbulence. The marketplace leader must also be a person of prayer who is in the Word of God daily and comfortable listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit.

The marketplace leader is not a second class calling in comparison to full time pastors and missionaries. This is one of the great lies of the devil. Instead, the businessperson is called to be a leader in a very important arena of society. Business and ministry are to be merged together. Along with Pricilla and Aquilla, a husband and wife team successful in business, the Apostle Paul was first a tentmaker, then a businessperson who used his skills to further the kingdom of God (Acts 18:1-3). We must partner together to reach our cities for Christ.

Doing ministry in the marketplace is a calling from God for the extending of God's kingdom. It is crucial to evangelize all segments of society. The best person to reach the unsaved in the marketplace is the marketplace missionary whom God has placed strategically. There is a special mantle, gifting, and anointing that rests upon those who are separated unto the work of ministry in the marketplace.

Please hear the encouragement and respect I have for the businessperson. You are called. You are special. You are vitally important. You are standing in the gap. You are a key to city transformation. You are anointed for this ministry. You are a
marketplace missionary. You are a marketplace pastor. You are a marketplace evangelist. You are a marketplace prophet. You are standing in the right place, at the right time, to do the right thing.
